Miles glanced at the time as he took a seat in front of doctor Mandrayk. Excuse me one moment Nuscian. flipping on his com Miles called down to Rasper in the Hanger Bay. Mr. Krager i wont be able to depart within a hour i will follow as quickly as possible conntact me with rendevous instructions. Turning back to the doc Miles leans forward resting his forearms on the edge of the desk. Nuscian something has come up a bit of freelance work i must depart as soon as possible. But that isnt why i came to see you at least only a part of it. You know this old cortical splint i have. Well its started to malfunction. I was intendeing to come in and see you when this bit of business popped up. I know its abit unusual doc but i need you to come along on the trip and well i need you to reimplant a upgraded device in route. Now before you object this isnt GTC business you will be paid by me personally for your services. Also ive cleared out my forward cargo hold and have men standing by to assist in bringing along all the medical equipment you will need. Also Doc there is a chance i may need some of your non medical expertise in this little venture. Miles smiled over the desk at Nusican and the look the man had on his face.

Mandrayk listened to the details though he was well aware the Miles had miles to mention the finer details in regards to the actual purpose of the venture.

“A odd request but one I am very much capable of achieving. I will need to take some more specialised equipment onboard and furthermore the entire space will have to be sterilised. *He paused for a second*…however I will I must ask what kind of business this little ‘venture’ entails.”

He said all this in a casual friendly manner his face not betraying the thousands of scenarios Mandrayk played in his mind as he weighed what limited information he had.

Miles grinned across the desk at Nuscian. Oh just a mining operation that has been mysteriously accident prone who somehow managaged to hire all ex mlitary replacements books that dont add up if you know what your looking for a certain trooper first class seems to think "something" may have been discovered , On a side note if my figures arnt mistaken they have been shorting the Gtc on the required cut. So rasper and I and my assistant are headed over to investigate. Thats where you come in i need you to come along and have me ship shape before we get there its up to you if you want to come along for the rest. Ive men standing by to help move any equipment you need aboard the Risky Gambit. I just need you and any personel you wish to bring and we can be on our way.

Mandrayk devoured the information , his mind processing this. He arrived at a conclusion. He gave a small smile.

“Very well I shall accompany you, send your men up I will instruct them which components to bring no doubt you have a few thing to prepare I will be aboard shortly. However do you have the new upgrade or shall I select one for implantation”

Rasper looked at the GTC headquarters as it got smaller and smaller by the second. Rasper soon made it into the atmosphere and jumped to hyperspace on route to do a little pre-mission scouting on Alderaan.

Miles flipped on his comm telling Carl to round up some men and get to the medical bay PDQ turning back to Nuscian. the best you can come by doc ill leave the make and model to you but youve an idea of the things i need it capable of so that should be a issue. Miles leaned back in the chair incase the doc had anymore questions.

Rasper made his way through a high grass field towards the outskirts of the mine. He had run into 5 sensors and 6 rows of land mines that were poorly placed. He arrived and saw various outposts with one or two armed gaurds and they were packing serious fire power as some of the posts even had auto turrest placed there. Rasper decided to go the long way around to the other side. SO far the defenses were tight but every defenss has a weakness.

“Very well I think I know which you would find most beneficial… I shall be along shortly after taking care of the necessary elements”* he pauses* “Is there anything else you would like to add”

About that time Carl arrived with several strong looking men ans Miles pointed to the doctor. Get what ever he tells you moved to the forward cargo hold of the ship yesterday! turning back to Nuscian There are a few things im interested in but his one takes priority perhaps while were on the ship we will have time to discuss it. Ill be in the hangar bay getting the ship prepped for launch. Miles stood up nodding to the doctor and headed out to get the ship ready.

Mandrayk pondered over the information. Truth be told he was not one to rush in to a situation were he had not played at least some part in its constructions. It was only logical. It had been a while since he had left his work. However this could be beneficial he could gather field data on the improvements he had made recently. He gaze fell to his left arm as he slowly flexed his hand. He mind suddenly drifted, his goals, his works all spiralled and clouded his mind. He had achieved much but there was so much more.

He snaps back into reality as Miles’s man passed through. He had given him the appropriate list of items. He worked fast, got the job done. No doubt a reason why Miles had hired the man. All had been prepared various pieces of equipment were in the process of being transported to Miles ship. Mandrayk now packed his small satchel bag with some varied medical implements that could be used in the field as well as a few other items, if the need arose. He turned and dismissed Miles’s man. As he set up the droids to run the bay in his absence as well a noting his absence in a log as to alert those that may need his services. He leaves his office and slowly passed through the doors of the medical. He is relatively unarmed he had the tools of his trade, those would do he knew from experience his fellow employees could take care of them selves. Not that he would now of such things, he was merely a doctor. He made a detour on his way to the ship, it would be a while before everything would be loaded. Mandrayk was not a being to take risks, he preferred always a certain level of security. He made his way through GTC, he would call upon an newly found acquaintance. He had full confidence in the abilities of Miles and his newly found assistant Lisara. And then thier was Rasper. During his time here he had come to understand him, he had seen him work first hand there would be no worry their either. However, there were numerous factors to consider. The facility had gone ‘rogue’ they had decided to go against the GTC deal, a strange action as connection with the GTC were far from unbeneficial and the penalties for actions against them greater still. This in turn dictated that what ever they had broken the bargain for, would have to be something of great worth, it was only logical. Going by this analysis this raised the question, an unknown party residing most likely within the facility had in turn taken advantage of this. This meant that said group would have to be made of people of above average influence and intelligence in such matter. They had up still now kept this matter a secret and had been investing in security of their own, in the form of the ex-soldiers Miles had mentioned. Was this out of greed or was their more to this. No. It was too well organised their was a greater scheme to this, this should prove far more interesting then he suspected. As such it would be both logically and beneficial to require some extra aid in the matter.

Mandrayk stopped as he entered a darkened room, the firing range. A sleek female figure can be seen by one of the shooting booths. She fires off shots at the targets with brutal efficiency. Dr Mandrayk enters all most drifting in with swift silent steps. He stopped a respectable distant from the figure.

“Miss Violet might I speak with you?”

Violet recognized the voice in an instant and she just barely managed to restrain herself. Dr Nuscian Mandrayk was a very silent character indeed, but in her defense the blaster fire most certainly had his footsteps masked during his approach. Violet flipped the safety on and holstered her weapon before turning around. The man was dressed in his usual black attire and stood a short distance away like he did not yet trust her. She hadn't made a very good first impression Violet remembered.

She bowed her head lightly and locked her hands in front of her, leaving them visible for him to see as she closed the distance, stopping a single step from the towering figure. Violet was more than a little curious but fixed her eyes on his polished black boots instead of trying to glimpse his expression. What did he want? Violet asked herself, she'd never be so bold as to utter such a question out loud of course but she suspected he'd tell her anyways.

Violet is an interesting being to say the least. Again she had failed to make eye contact, she always seem to maintain this visage of inferiority. Strange. Mandrayk did not out rank her, she was a skilled killer, deadly and efficient admirable traits. He very much doubted that in open combat he was the better she was far too skilled in such things, that much he had deduced. She would useful in the up coming endeavour, hopefully in the interest of the company the scene would end with out incident. However from the information collected this was an illogical idea. He locked eyes with Violet.

“Pray come with me”

He turns and begins to walk through the halls of the GTC. He suspected she would follow; he and Violet had developed an understanding.

“Mr Kenko as approached me about a endeavour off world. I shall part with what information I know. The GTC had an understanding with an Allderann based mining facility. It appears they have discovered or are dealing with something of great worth. Something worth severing their ties with the company, meddling with their accounts to hide this and so on and so forth and while doing so going through a period of recruitment seemingly specialising in ex-military personnel. Over all, a somewhat, undesirable affair. Mr Kenko has prepared a ship for departure. It is currently loading cargo in the hanger bay. So far the company comprises of myself, Mr Kenko, Miss Novar and Mr Karger. However I fear this endeavour will end unfortunately for the those that have gone against the deal, so believe my skills will be limited in regards to aid, I am merely a doctor after all."

He stopped walking and turned to Violet

“I believe you aid in this matter would be greatly beneficial. Naturally you will be compensated. Any questions?

Violet followed a respectful two step behind Dr Mandrayk as he swept through he corridors of the GTC. She listened too something that sounded an awful lot like a mission briefing and her heart quickened. Being holed up on this base was starting to get to her.

Violet let the fingers of her hand fan out and drag against the wall as she walked, her fingertips gliding across it's smooth surface, for a moment the sensation almost made her forget the figuring blocking her view. But then Mandrayk stopped and she snapped right back, quickly folding her hands together again as he turned. She believe she'd gotten most of what he had said, some names unfamiliar to her was going to some mining facility and it was guarded with ex-military personnel.

“I believe you aid in this matter would be greatly beneficial. Naturally you will be compensated. Any questions?

The Doctor asked her and Violet bowed even deeper, a gesture that encompassed her acknowledgment, obedience and gratitude. She was relieved, not only because he had activated her like she'd hoped for but also because this justified the liberty she'd taken during the time between her last meeting with the Doctor and now, the fruits of which she now presented him with.

She reached for her pocket slowly, her head bowed deep as to not appear threatening in any way and with the quick fingers of a pickpocket Violet produced a small data-storage device that she presented to him in the palm of her hand, bowing even deeper.

The second she felt the tiny hard drive leave her hand she turned around and swept away towards her quarters. She needed supplies for such a mission, some proper shielding and a precision rifle at the very least.

Mandrayk watched as Violet as she left. She had accepted it seems, excellent. He eyes fell upon the small data slither in his palm. An unexpected development , he had not requested anything nor had he expected anything from her. Well, this warranted further investigation. With a smooth motion he retrieves his data pad and starts to walk the longer route to the hanger. He plugs in the data slither into the data pad, he accessed the file. Mandrayk was not a easy person to surprise, however this was…unexpected. He held in his hands complete access to the restraint collar upon violets neck. The design was sophisticated but not unheard off. The setting seemed to allow him to monitor her life readings, heart rate, chemical imbalances minor readings but, very useful features. He looked over the design, their appeared to be deterrent features? Adjustable electrical emitters could be activated, a featured seen in higher classes of equipment. He noted with further interest that this also included a terminate feature upon the push on a button Mandrayk could now end violets life at any time.

He enters the turbo lift. Mandrayk thinks over this turn of events, it appears Violets mind set was of a completely different calibre indeed. Her usual submissive and passive behaviour was the merely signifier of something far deeper. Clearly this ran far deeper than he had initial suspected. However this was far from unbeneficial it seemed things would work greatly in his favour. Mandrayk had his plans and indeed had been seeking a beneficially understanding between him self and Violet in the course of his works her assistance in certain matters would be invaluable. Now it seems the fruits of his efforts had exceeded that of his estimates. A predatory grin spread across his face. She will prove a invaluable asset he thought, however he would be wary for one simple fact remain, her past was still a unknown factor. Which begged the question if she was once wielded by another, another who had made these for her. What had happened. He would find out what he needed to know in due time. He leaves the turbo lift and walks slowly towards Miles ship. The remnants of thought of what he would be able to accomplish with his newfound aid flooded his mind like tendrils of smoke, whispering what could be. The spark ignited the sense of purpose filled his mind, his work will be done, and nothing shall ever stand in his way.


They would achieve great things together, terrible, but great.
