| Designing the Advanced Classes SystemI'll be honest, I was very surprised we got a good update this week. After all the smuggler updates last week I wasn't expecting much, but Bioware have done good and it is an interesting read. Also the advanced classes system is explained through a non-force class which is unusally but am sure very welcome by most.

| I'm actually quite happy about Advanced Classes. It adds more originality and differentiation between players, especially since each Advanced Class will have two main sets of skills. As they said in the update, you can completely go all out on one set of skills, or take a moderation between the two available. It's good that all Smugglers won't automatically be the Rogue-esque class, and all Troopers immediately the heavy tank, although you will be somewhat. I'm quite happy with this, although I'm sure some players will be unhappy that choosing an Advanced Class is a MUST. | |

| Well you can't please all the people all the time.
They will just have to deal with it, and if they don't I will go and slap them. Advanced classes stops people of the same class just being clones of another player. So as you can tell am in full support of this. Also maybe future expansion will have extra (shorter) stories for each advanced class rather than just regular class.

| Its very interesting how the classes skills are divided, how theres two skill sets within two advanced classes. And i have the same prob as violet, I want to go healer but it doesn't fit my character, may have to go for an alt. | |

| Heh why would anyone not want to choose an advanced class? Do they enjoy getting killed? | |

I believe the motivation would be to not specialize oneself and be decent at everything instead of good at one thing. Not something that I personally want, just what I think some might.

Theres no place in a raid group for someone who is alright, and can't do crap, at everything. They must have there purpose and be good at it.

But some people aren't out there for raiding and PvP, etc. Some probably just want to play the game on their own, or with a friend, and not go on crazy hardcore multiplayer quests and raids. I think the option should be there to remain pure to their class, and not go into any advanced/prestige classes, but if that was the case, then there should be enticements on both sides of the spectrum, to make it harder to decide whether you want to remain pure to your main class, or go into a prestige class.

| Do you guys understand that the advance classes are basically just extra little skills you get to choose. Not a whole new class. | |

| They're still counted as a prestige class in terms of RPGs, like the "Jedi Master" and "Jedi Watchmen" in KotOR II. I guess they'd be considered a sub-class. Some people prefer not to use prestige classes. I do, as I like being able to use new feats and skills for my main class, as well as different specialisations, but not all people are like that. | |

| I think it is more just something to moan about, like space combat.
"Oh we want space and you won't put it in the game Bioware" "Space is in the game" "Wha...? Well we don't like it" "You haven't ever seen it yet" "Don't care, don't like it"

| More customization > less customization... unless you're like my and have insane difficulties deciding things and change your mind every two seconds... ... ... ... No wait.... less customization > more customization... no wait... | |
