An interview with Daniel Erickson, Lead Writer for The Old Republic, kicks KotOR II in the genitals again, as they have a new reveal about Revan.

Basically, Erickson stated that Revan and Malak went into the Unknown Regions, ad met the Sith Emperor, who turned them to the Dark Side. Then the Sith Emperor sends the two back to the Republic, to set up a Sith Empire, as a vanguard for the coming of the True Sith.

So, in the end, it is now stated that Revan didn't turn to the Dark Side to serve the Republic and create a better, stronger one to prepare the defence for the coming of the True Sith Empire. He was pretty much a servant and pawn for the Sith Emperor.

So, what Kreia told us was all false, according to BioWare, and KotOR II means nothing to them (as we already have seen).

Well thats..................interesting, Revan was a bad ass strategist and a great leader respected by all who followed him but nope he was just a pawn thats super. (sarcasm)

But I must say it is still cool, it is a little bit of a slap in the face to KOTOR II but the bases of where the gameplay takes place sounds exciting, like fighting all over the place, confusion anger sounds like a fun time.

Hmmm, don't know what to think of this really. I didn't play kotor 2, so I don't really know about all the backstory. I do know however about the true Sith, so it will be interesting to learn who the emporer is.

Oh, people were saying that Naga Sadow is the current Sith Emperor, because something Erickson said made them think that way. That post he made was just to clear it up that the Sith Emperor is not Naga Sadow, who was at Yavin IV.

Well thats deflating... I was expecting a reveal like that to be more significant.

And they sure do totally disregard KotOR II. Im curious to see if they ever even mention the Exile.

They probably won't since they didnt make the second one.

That doesnt mean that it isnt canon and something they should totally ignore though.

Aye, I agree fully with Darc. This it retconning on a massive scale, and, as KotOR II came way before SW:TOR, they shouldn't be allowed to do this, especially since it isn't their company who made these ideas. Sure, I can understand BioWare doing a retcon for KotOR II, if it was made by them, by as it was made by Obsidian, they should at least get permission.

Apparently they said in the games that he went there to try to stop the True Sith, or at least hinder them from returning for a while. The Exile followed in pursuit to find any clues of his whereabouts.

I have a feeling that we're going to see Revan in SW:TOR. It would be amazing if somehow he overthrew the Sith Emperor and took control, but I doubt it. I still believe that he's going to play a part.

what exactly are the true sith, have they ever been described? Or are they just regular sith but they tell the truth?

They are the Sith survivors of the Great Hyperspace War. The Sith Empire we see in KotOR is an ideal, not the actual True Sith Empire. These guys were the original Sith that used to be the Jedi who dabbled in the Dark Side of the Force, corrupting them. The first of the first. The ones who created the term "Sith" from the actual species.

If Revan does make an apperance in SWTOR, then it will be in the form of a ghost, informing players of his fate and leading them on to defeat the true emporer.
