User Inactivity

We have decided to lay down a new set of rules, regarding the inactivity of members. They go in an order of steps.

1. If a user is inactive for one month without stating his Leave of Duty, or giving a reason why he will be inactive, he will receive a Private Message with a warning from one of the Vigos.

2. If a user is inactive for three months without stating his Leave of Duty, or giving a reason why he will be inactive, he will be removed from the Consortium he is in and any other special groups or ranks.

3. If a user is inactive for six months without stating his Leave of Duty, or giving a reason why he will be inactive, any ranks, and authority, etc will be stripped from him. Basically, he will be suspended until further notice.

If at any time the member comes back and once again becomes active, he must explain his reasons why he was inactive. If we decide that his explanation is acceptable, he will be returned to his former status. If we decide that his explanation is not acceptable, we will have to work his way back to his former status.

but i just got to thinking.
couldent the person just simply lie about why he was away for so long?

If he had nothing to hide, then he wouldn't lie. However, as we stated before, the reason behind his activity has to be bloody good, even more so if it's a large amount of time away.

Yeah it's kind of long. But, considering the game isn't out yet, I think it's reasonable. I'm thinking it could change a little when the game is actually out. But for now it's pretty good.

Lots of things happen in RL that can take some time to sort out so thats why its a longer period, we know who is active and who isn't and those are the ones who are rewarded so its not like they can sneak off for two months then be right back in the good books.

Also as Owen says it is different as the game isn't out yet, it will be shorter when the game is released because it will have a bigger effect on the guild.

No that is not cool, that is not being part of an active guild just checking things sometimes.

Theres nothing to say all day. If they can not devote time to a guild they should not join until later. Joining a guild means being part fo a group and interacting with eachother. In RL you wouldn't hang out with someone who just stands there and does nothing would you? If you join a guild you must be active and take part.

Ok again, there you say a month away. Our rules are three months until demotion, now probably clear for everyone that is 1/4 of a year. Now if we do not hear from someone for that long we are not expecting them to come back otherwise logic suggest they would have told us something about it. For them to also expect their rank to still be the same is ridiculous, in fact if that happens it seems more like a punishment to the active members who share the same rant.

I don't see how there can be a debate about this, three months is very generous. Five minutes to come on and explain in three months? Easy. If people let us know, and it is a valid reason, it is fine. People leaving without a word and expecting to still be part of the guild is not fine at all.
