“Stay here, I'll check it out,” Marcus Keez said as he directed his pregnet wife, Reina Keez, and young daughter, Elisa Keez. Marcus Turned the corner, of the transport ship's hallway. Minutes before the ship's lights went off, and lound banging noise were being heard throughout the ships corridors. This corridor seemed clear, and he directed his family to follow. Marcus slowly and tatically walked through the corridor to the bridge of the ship hoping to find out what's happening. Marcus held his hand up motioning for his family to stop, as he took the corner to the next corridor. As he peeked his head over the wall he saw what he feared, Imperials. Marcus knew why they were here, he needed to get his family off the ship now.
The Imperials were in his path to the escape pods, he pulled out his blaster pistol and aimed, the four sith troopers beating up a zabrak were dead. Marcus motioned his family to follow him again. He could hear is daughterbegan to cry as she saw the dead zabrak and Imperial troopers. He had to get off the ship, he could not let his family suffer for things he had caused. Reina quieted Elisa before she got to loud, and Marcus kept moving.
They reached the a blast door, behind it there only way out, the escape pods. “Reina, stay here,” Marcus said as his wife stared back down the hallway, expresionless. “You got to listen to me honey, I need to get you and Elisa off the ship. Stay here, and take my blaster. If you see anything move, you shoot. I'm going to the bridge, we need to open this door. Just stay here nobody will see you,” Marcus said as he pushed her hair out of her eyes, “We'll get out of this honey, we will.” With that he kissed his wife and embraced his daughter. He turned and began to run towards the bridge weaponless.
Marcus encountered more troopers as he turned the corner, his only chance of survival was close combat attacks. He avoided the two poorly aimed blaster shots meant for him and jumped on the nearest trooper, he was able to turn the man around to face the other trooper, using the man as a shield. He shoved the man he had as as sheild at the the trooper who still had a blaster. They knocked each other over giving Marcus enough time to grab one of there blaster rifles. He made two quick shots to the head, and they were dead. He contiuned on at the fastest pace possible the same thoughts ran through his mind, “Save Family.” He reached the door to the bridge another set of trooper stood guard but with another two aimed shots they were down for the count. Marcus walked up to the door and stepped into the pitch black bridge.
He could hear the door shut behind him. The lights turned on, to reveal a dark figure sitting in the captains chair. He swivled the chair towards Marcus. As expected, it was a Sith, and a fairly powerful one from the way he felt the coldness creep out of him and into the room. “Marcus, Marcus, Marcus....,” The sith had a huge smile on his face, “You should of known you can not run away from us. We do not easily forget people such as you. Your heroics in the war Captain Keez, will cost you and your families lives.”
“I am no longer a memeber of the Republic, Sith, Leave me be,” Marcus said, a very stern look on his face.
“So much like you Marcus, not even addressign your old friends by there names,” The sith replied the smile growing bigger, the cloak that covered the top of his head was removed.
Marcus's gaze fell, he knew what who the sith was. “YOU ARE A TRAITOR GENSON, YOU BETRAYED THE REPUBLIC, YOU SOLD OUT OUR PLANS, TATICS, AND EVEN SUPPLY LINES TO THE SITH. You deserve no better then to die, like the rest of your kind,” Marcus spit at his old friend, and present traitor, Genson.
“Ah, so I guess we will not catch up on old times. Though I do expect you to fight me, you were always good at that Marcus,” Genson's smile was gone and the metalic hilt of the lightsaber was in his hand.
Marcus, picked up a durasteel pole which had fallen off the wall next to him. “I intend to kill you Genson, not fight,” Marcus charged at Genson.
Marcus raised the durasteel pole and brought it done aimed at Genson's head. Genson ignited his bright orange lightsaber and pushed the pole aside making Marcus fall off balance. He rolled over quickly as a lightsaber was brought down where he laid. He jumped to his feet and brought the pole to a strong sight against Genson's side the sith blocked again. “You have lost your touch Marcus, really you have,” Genson seemed dissapointed. Marcus unleased a flurry of fients and uppercuts hoping to catch the sith off guard from his speech. The durasteel pole hit Genson's rib with a thud and a crack. Genson let out a grunt of pain, force grabbed Marcus sending him flying across the control board. “You are weak Marcus, just as weak as the Republic is,” Genson let out a bonechilling laugh. Marcus stared down at the control board hoping to see the button he wanted, luckly he did. He slammed the button down on his way to stand back up.
Reina stood in the corner of the door, with Eliza behind her and a blaster in her hand. Suddenly the door opened, the escape pods were all open ready for launch. She and Eliza jumped in one and close the hatch, waiting for Marcus to come back. Reina felt that the baby was coming soon, much sooner then expected.
Marcus had no weapons. He was defesles against the force. Genson force grabbed him again and began shaking him around the room, his laughter continued till he released Marcus sending him flying into the navicomputer. Marcus knew he could not escape this, but his family could, he ignited the navicomputer, preparing it for a course right into a nearby sun. Genson was still clueless. Marcus stood back up and jumped over to the comms station. “Reina, release the pod, now. I can not be saved do it now,” Marcus said, holding back tears. He could only hope that she would listen.
“What is this, she is trapped here as are you. Marcus,” the sith raved. A louch metal screech and what sounded to be the side of the hull was torn away. The airlocks shut, preventing the transport from being consumed by space. “What, why is my ship gone,” Genson looked out the window and saw that the transport was actually moving, and moving fast. Marcus looked out the window hoping to see an escape pod. Our of the side of his he saw a small cylinder craft being shot through the stars. They were safe. Marcus turned to the sith. All he saw was his eyes when the lightsaber sliced through his neck. Marcus' head rolled off and his body soon fell afterwards.
Reina pushed in pain, as the baby was coming out. Through the viewport of the pod she could see the transport explode into the sun, her husband aboard it. The escape pod was set to Nar Shadda the nearest advanced planet.
The escape pod landed in a major landing port on the planet. Reina had already pushed out the baby, Eliza was next to her mother as the doors of the pod were pryed open. A group of humans and Twil'leks stood in front of the forced open door. Reina, had no idea what they were speaking, huttes was not a language she knew. They grabbed Eliza, Reina, and the newborn baby and put them in the back of there speeder. They took off towards one of the bigger towers on the planet. Reina kept her kids close, she wasn't going to let them get seperated.
The speeder landed and they were escorted through a very decotive palace like place. Soon they were brought to a hutt. They stood in front of them, knowing nothing of what they spoke. Soon they were placed in a barraks with more people in it, it seemed to be a forced labor camp.
That night was Reina, Eliza, and the newborn child sat on there bed, mourning the loss of there father and husband. The child began to cry, “Shhh, it's ok, it's ok. Owen, that will be your name, after your great grandfather. “
