Collectors Edition

Expected this thursday! Maybe we'll get a holiday release after all.

I have never been more excited about anything in my life right now. $175 for the special collector's edition? $175 well spent! I'll be waiting for this. Luckily (assuming this is the actual truth) it starts at 5pm on Friday for me, so I'll be sitting right in front of my screen waiting. Even if it isn't true, it's got me pumped, and most likely we will be seeing a pre-order soonish. BioWare likes to get pre-ordering up early.

Personally, I won't believe it until I see actual released details myself, but...

THAT LOOKS AWESOME! I don't often buy any form of special/collectors edition, but... I might get this...

I'm buying this just for the mouse droid and the exclusive vendor

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000 or better / Intel Core2 Duo Processor 2.0 Ghz or better

RAM: At least 1.5 GB or better for XP / 2 GB or better for Windows Vista/7 / PC's using built in graphic chipsets 2 GB RAM is recommended.

Hard Drive: 8x DVD-ROM or better

Video: ATI XT800 or better / NVIDIA 7800 or better / Intel 4100 or better. 256 MB minimum video RAM, shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card.

Yus! Just what I wanted to hear. My system is comfortably above that. Provided my internet remains stable, looks like I'm set.

I'm normally dubious, but, it looks too... right... to be fake.

I've been glancing at the SW:TOR forums regarding this, and apparently ads are popping up all over gaming sites with pre-orders for SW:TOR. In addition, someone in the community found this:

It says "Error" and "Page Not Found", but it might very well mean that BioWare is going to be putting up the pre-order very soon.

EDIT: Pre-order is now up. But not for Australia. All I can say to that, and I will say it... WHAT THE FUCK!?

I wish there was a middle point between the standard version and the collectors edition that wasn't strictly on Origin. I wouldn't mind the collectors edition stuff, but I cannot really justify paying £140 for a game, no matter how hyped I am for it. Odds are, half the stuff will be available through micro-transactions anyways, so I suppose I wouldn't be missing out too much.

Edit: Scratch that, Collectors Edition ordered from Game online. Since they don't take your money til the Game shifts, I'm happy to slowly put aside money til it comes to shipping day. I'm excited now. Perhaps a release date soon?

Hm, seems not European and North American countries aren't even going to get to PLAY the game at launch. I think... I think... I think I hate everyone...

Nope. They aren't allowing digital copy distribution for countries outside of the selected dozen or so.

That's very very very wierd marketing... Have they given any explanation as to why they would do that? O.o

Nothing other than the usual stuff they say.

Not sure exactly how that makes sense.

Ah finally a pre-order option... the collectors edition looks damn cool, but that is quite a hefty price tag. I'll have to think about whether I am willing to spend that kind of money before I pre-order.

Also it really is unfortunate that they are handling the release in such a restrictive manner. That really does make this difficult for an international guild like ourselves. Typho, I see that Australia isn't one of the release countries, but where do you see that Europe will get a later release date?

Ah, that would have been a spelling mistake on my post. SOME European countries get it, but there are a considerable amount that won't be able to play at launch date. However, I guess that they might be able to pre-order from a country near them and ship it to their location.

Ah okay I see, just the European countries that aren't listed then. Do you know if all the countries that are listed for preorder will have the same opening launch date?

I would assume so. BioWare hasn't said otherwise, so unless they do, I would expect they would all launch on the same date, seeing as pre-ordered copies get early game access.
