Possible 2012 Release Date

There's a possibility it might be released in 2012. That sucks. I wish it was released in spring 2011 like it was going to though, then I would've had all summer to play it.

I'm not too fussed really. I'm actually hoping that it is launched late October or even November this year, so that my final VCE exams are out of the way, and I have four months off to get my SW:TOR on. If it's released January 2012, doesn't fuss me too much either.

I think it could just be them covering themselves after the fallout of the 'spring 2011' issue it will probably be released before.

Like Davan said, it is probbly just keeping them covered. They have stated somewhere that it is most likely to still arrive in 2011, but just needed January 2012 for 'elbow room'

Well, seeing as it has now been in development for around six years or more, I think they've put quite a bloody lot of time into it. Game testing has been going on since Summer 2009, so they've had plenty of time for bugs and balancing, etc. Sure, it's good to have developers spend more time and effort on a game, but there comes a certain time when it's just taking too long. I mean, we'll have been following this game for three years at least by the time it comes out.

And it can't go on for much longer due to one solid reason: Investment. Alot of money has been poured into the project, and investors are REALLY going to want to see some return sometime soon. They won't wait much longer. I'm still expecting an Autumn release.

Also, euro testing now likely means euro servers. If things are this far down the line it has to release soon. Plus with each batch of game testing there are increasing number of people getting involved in each one. I know I'm not supposed to talk about the game testing, but I will say one thing: The game was looking in mighty fine shape end of last year.

Yes, but that is my internet connection on an Austin server. Putting the lag aside, it was looking very well.

Like the article suggest the 2012 release date is simply there for elbow room. I highly doubt they will not be releasing by holiday season this year. Though it is sad to have to wait, I'm sure we will find other games to keep ourselves occupied ex. Elder Scrolls SkyRim, BattleField 3, Gears Of War 3, the list goes on. So it is no terrible loss and besides gives me more time to start playing Eve Online again.

I've stopped paying attention to release dates... it will come out when it comes out and nothing I say will change that.
