Interesting photos. I particularly liked the ones you took of your school, they're pretty small images but it's easy to see the mood you've captured with them. I tend to find that when I'm taking shots of places (whether landscape or architecture) it helps to try and find a different perspective or aspect to the photo that makes it stand out. Good luck with the aspiration to make it professional, I'm sure you can do it.
I might consider making a Flickr account at some point. At the moment, the only place where I upload my photos is
DeviantartI'm completely an amateur photographer. I can't ever imagine myself going professional.
I use a Canon EOS 400D. As far as kit goes, I only have two lenses so far (canon 18-55, Sigma 70-300 APO DG) but I try to keep them flexible to fit most uses. Once I can afford it, I'm thinking of a macro or even a wide-angle lens. I've picked up a great tripod recently too, that folds down to pretty much nothing.
EDIT: Fix'd link. Oops.
Also: the 400D was generally considered better than the Nikon that was on the market at the time. I was also considering getting into astrophotography, which the Canon is apparently brilliant for.
Also also: Nikon infidel!
