I had heard rumours about this a few months back, but I had hoped that they would stay rumours and nothing more. Unfortunately, I guess that isn't so. Hm, where's my sniper rifle?

Im actually confident in Lucas, He said that episode 1 wouldent be released for at least another year if not longer so that mean that he is taking his time in going over the movie in 3D and I for one am excited to see how it turns out

why? There is no need for 3D, it adds nothing to the film. I believe this with most things now being released in 3D, the only films that should be 3D are animated ones like Toy Story.

It was expected he would. He re-releases all the star wars once a new tech comes out. I don't really care what he does with the dvd/blueray stuff. Doesn't really affect us at all, unless you actually wanted to by the 3-D stuff.

whatever his motives are I will stand behind his on this one. Like he said himself

"Movies are never fully completed, only be made better" and in that logic I think this is just Lucas trying to make his movies better (in his eyes)

I think it may add a little more to the movies, especially the space battles, but I doubt it would be much better overall. I agree with davan that only animated movies should be made 3D. the best 3D Ive seen was in How to train your dragon, in most of the others like Clash of the Titans i barely noticed it.

Actually I won't go to see it, I believe they charge too much for regular cinema trips let alone 3D and Imax. I prefer to wait for films to come out on dvd unless it is something I just can't wait to see.

It isn't too expensive over here for 3D, so I will probably go see it. It'd cost about the same as a DVD that has just been released, only I get to see it on a massive screen. I'll have to judge whether it is worthy of existence.

to me it matters not if he spends 10 years converting episode 1 to 3D cus u will never be able to make a movie filmed for 2D over to a perfect 3D qualety.
and that is why i wont even care to watch it... personally i dont give much for 3D any ways. to many movies are being converted into crap 3D.

I still have a VHS tape of the original star wars trilogy I've had since i was real little in the early 80's. Before being digitally re-mastered and way before 3D. maybe I'm old fashioned but I seemed to have more fun watching those than any other versions.
