Rumour about a new Star Wars Trilogy

I just checked some things out, and this is what I found:

If true, the movies will be in 3d, however, Lucas stated that he will NOT be directing them. He'd like to get Stephen Spielberg or Francis Ford Coppola to direct it.

It would be great if there were more star wars movies. It would benefit us (the fans) and the Lucas ( He could add another billion dollars to his saving account. ) But i won't get my hopes up until lucas films actually announce it.

And another thing is what time period would it take place in. Before or after the movies?

George Lucas stated that if James Cameron avatar movie did well in the box office, that he will produce a new Star Wars Trilogy and the original trilogy in 3D. Lucas said that his new movies will either be based after the original trilogy, an epilogue, or an origins story based on the Jedi and Sith.

So, I guess the new trilogy will be all done in normal live action, and a new Original Trilogy in 3D.

I agree, I hate when directors remake ld movies, why can't they just leave them as they are. Reminds me of a South Park episode, where Lucas and Speilberg try to remake Raiders of the Lost Ark and fail.
As for a new trilogy, it would definately be interesting to say the least.
