I prefer the more classic iteration of that song from Battlefield 1942. Its really just the same thing, and I probably only think so because I liked 1942 a lot better than 2142.
The best theme that I can think of right now would be Hell March from Red Alert. There might be something that I'm forgetting, but I'll go with that for now.

Awesome vid there Violet, nearly brought a tear to my eye.
While there are several memorable themes I can think of, most of them from older games that I've played, its a more recent one I have to consider the most awesome I've ever heard.
Also, even though its just the opening song, I've got to put this in.

Lamely, I can't think of anything truly epic right now ( other than thinking that a track I heard from Assassin's Creed was pretty amazing.. Posthumus, I think..? ), but when I do, I'm going to post!
However, I will say that I've gotten through a couple of these tracks and I was thinking how nice it would be to have a compilation of certain songs to suit certain "moods" of RP: suspense, battle, adventure ( dare I say romance? Bow-chicka-wow-wow.. ) that an individual could play back while writing to get themselves into the right frame of mind.
On that note, thanks for starting the thread and for posting some good game theme songs! I'll contribute as soon as I can remember what that song was...

Okay, okay.. it's E.S. Posthumus. I'm 99% sure Assassin's Creed uses their awesomeness in-game ( though I've never played it, so.. take that with a grain of salt.. ). Below is one of my favorites, just kind of an "adventuring" feel, but if you search their name on YouTube, you will get to experience more of this great music:
EDIT: Not to sound like I'm blabbering, but.. check out Pompeii also.. elitesauce. ( And I usually never use -sauce descriptors, but c'mon.. you know what I'm talkin' about.. )
