In an any RP on these forums the main character you use should be your GTC character. Sometimes if someone is taking a recruit on a training mission they can use another character but you won't have to worry about that until you have completed your own mission.
And, really, if you can't think of a reason why your character would be in a certain RP, just don't join it. Don't need to join every RP that is created, my friend
